ENGINEERING MANAGER - NSW Document BodyEngineering Manager
Signalling Department – Lidcombe, NSW
Westinghouse Rail Systems Australia, the nation’s leading Railway Signalling and Control Specialists are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead an established team of railway signalling and control systems engineers.
The role is based at our Lidcombe office, with responsibility to manage and organise the deployment of skilled staff to support major projects in a timely and cost effective manner. Other aspects of the role include the provision of estimates of time and materials for nominated projects and the management of small to medium projects from initial estimate through to implementation. Identifying commercial opportunities and delivering them through co-operation with other departments.
To be successful you will need in-depth knowledge of railway signalling principles and practices, proven experience in the design, construction and testing of railway schemes, and the ability to demonstrate exceptional team leadership. Candidates should also have knowledge of the IRSE licensing scheme and ideally hold a relevant IRSE license.
The candidate we are looking for will be highly experienced in project planning, have the ability to optimise the deployment of staff into projects and effectively manage overlapping resource demands.
Candidates will need to be:
- Tertiary qualified and/or extensive experience in the railway signaling industry. Technical qualifications in Electrical/Electronic Engineering is preferred by not essential.
- Enthusiastic with a self-motivated approach, which is both innovative and flexible.
- Committed to quality, customer satisfaction and on time delivery.
- Able to comply with rigorous design and testing standards.
- Experienced in the line management of a large team with the ability to motivate and develop staff to their full potential.
