System Design Engineers

Australia's leading Railway Signalling and Control Specialists are seeking an experienced system design engineer to join their Control Systems Design group, which develops and maintains control and communications systems for railway control application. The position is based in Brisbane at Eight Mile Plains, and involves some interstate and overseas travel.
The Position
As a member of system design engineering team, the incumbent will be responsible for:
• Detailed design of control & communications systems and products.
• Producing & maintaining design information and configuration data, assisting with system integration test & commissioning, investigation and resolution of system or product level technical issues.
• Estimating, planning and delivering engineering designs on time, according to budget and to required quality and safety integrity levels.
Qualifications and Experience
• Tertiary qualifications in Electrical, Electronics, or Telecommunications Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in engineering design and implementation of SCADA, control systems or communications systems for railway or electric power utility applications. Experience in one or more projects is preferred.
• Knowledge of system and safety engineering standards, system design and configuration management processes including associated tools, techniques and methodologies. Familiarity with hardware and software development lifecycles.
• Proficient English language skills.
• Experience with CAD tools (AutoCAD or MicroStation) and Database tools (MS Access) would be an advantage.
